The beach clubs in Skiathos come down to one marquee name and a spread of organised beach bars. Locals mostly say beach bar rather than club here. There are 9 worth knowing, anchored by Baracoa on Tzaneria and the resort bars along the island's golden south and west beaches.
Most of them work on a simple sunbed model. A set of an umbrella and two loungers runs about €15 to €30 at the everyday beaches, more on the front rows at the pricier spots. Season runs May to October, with July and August the peak, and several venues post 2026 opening dates in early-to-mid May.
The scene splits by beach. Tzaneria and Vromolimnos sit on the south coast near town, Megali Ammos is a short walk from Skiathos Town itself, and the headline cluster is out west around Koukounaries and the twin Banana beaches. Does Skiathos have beach clubs?
It has one true beach club and a lot of organised beach bars. Baracoa on Tzaneria is the marquee name, a full boho-chic beach club with a reservation system, a chef-led kitchen, and a spa. It's the closest thing on the island to the beach clubs of Mykonos or Ibiza.
Everything else is a beach bar with sunbed rows, from the party-leaning Porto Paradiso at Vromolimnos to the five-star resort bars run by Elivi Skiathos out west. If you want the full club experience, book Baracoa. If you just want a lounger and a cocktail, the beach bars cover the rest of the coast.
Which Skiathos beach has the best beach bars?
The best cluster is out west around Koukounaries bay. Koukounaries itself, rated among the best beaches in Greece, has Xenia, and the twin Banana beaches next door hold the livelier Black Bird on Little Banana, run by the Elivi resort. Ampelakia in the same bay has the upscale Mystique Beach Club.
For a party day, Vromolimnos on the south coast is the watersports beach, home to Porto Paradiso. For something close to town, Swell on Megali Ammos has been going since 1993. Koukounaries and Banana are the ones most people build a beach day around.
Baracoa Beach Club & Restaurant

Baracoa Beach Club & Restaurant is the one true beach club on Skiathos, set on the blue-flag bay of Tzaneria on the south coast. Sunbeds, cabanas, and a lounge of sofas and armchairs run on a reservation system that keeps the numbers down and the beach calm.
The kitchen is led by Vasilis Bollos, a former MasterChef Greece contestant, cooking with ingredients from Skiathos and the wider Sporades. Around the sand there's a boho boutique, massage and spa treatments, water sports, and a garden of palm and willow trees.
This is the island's laid-back luxury pick, a mixed lounging and dining crowd rather than a party one. Sunbeds and cabanas are reservation-only with a spend, so book ahead in July and August. €€€ pricing.
Porto Paradiso Beach Bar Restaurant

Porto Paradiso Beach Bar Restaurant sits on Vromolimnos, the island's watersports and party beach on the south coast. It manages part of the well-kept sunbed rows from a raised terrace, and the shore runs jet skis, banana boats, water skiing, and windsurfing through the day.
The kitchen does Mediterranean and Greek plates with fresh local ingredients, alongside tropical cocktails, cold beers, and sunset views. There's a boutique shop on site, and the venue hosts weddings, live music, and theme nights.
An umbrella set runs about €30, with a beer around €6.50 at the bar. It's lively and easygoing, a good pick if you want the beach day and the water toys in one place. €€ pricing.

Swell Beach Bar

Swell Beach Bar has run since 1993 in the garden of the Angeliki Beach Hotel, directly on Megali Ammos beach near Skiathos Town. Shade comes from mature quince and poplar trees, which makes it one of the leafier spots on the island.
The drinks lean summery, with cocktails, smoothies, and fresh-fruit juices, plus Greek wines, local beer, and food made with fresh local ingredients. It's a longtime local favourite that's more about the food and the shade than a scene.
Sunbeds run about €15, or free if you're there for lunch. It's an easy walk from town for a relaxed day near the water. €€ pricing.
Mystique Beach Club

Mystique Beach Club is on Ampelakia beach, in the more exclusive corner of Koukounaries bay, looking out over the Aegean. The sunbeds are king-size with memory-foam mattresses, spaced out under olive trees rather than packed in, and you can book them ahead.
The kitchen serves Greek-Mediterranean food with a twist and a long wine list, and on some days there's a DJ and a saxophonist. A front sunbed with umbrella, towel, and a cocktail comes in around €20, which is good value for the setting.
The catch is the very front rows, where a set can run to about €120 with a €90 consumption minimum. That puts it at the top of Skiathos spend if you want the best position. €€€ pricing.

Xenia Beach Bar is the Elivi Skiathos resort's bar on Koukounaries, the golden, pine-backed beach rated among the best in Greece. It runs from morning to sunset with light dishes, cocktails, soft drinks, and a selected wine list.
It's an easygoing, upscale spot on the island's most photographed beach, part of the 213-acre Elivi resort. This is the pick if you want a sunbed day on Koukounaries with proper service.
It opens for the 2026 season on 3 May from 9am. Sunbed rates are on request, sitting at the resort end of the scale. €€€ pricing.
Black Bird Beach Bar

Black Bird Beach Bar is Elivi's bar on Little Banana, the smaller clothing-optional cove just beyond Big Banana. Upbeat music runs through the day, with a long list of drinks and refreshments and sunbeds on the sand.
It's free-spirited and a bit more secluded than its bigger neighbour, with a crowd that comes for the cove and the music. Worth knowing that the beach is clothing-optional, so it suits a certain kind of day.
It opens for the 2026 season on 23 May from 11am. €€ pricing.
Grace Beach Bar

Grace Beach Bar is Elivi's bar on Ambelakia, the sheltered bay that fronts the main hotel. It runs morning to sunset with light dishes, cocktails, soft drinks, and selected wines, backed by the Grace Pool Bar between the beach and the hotel.
It's the calmest of the Elivi bars, quieter and more resort-oriented than the Koukounaries and Banana beaches. Good for a low-key day when you don't want the crowds or the music.
It opens for the 2026 season on 3 May from 9am. €€€ pricing.
Maratha Beach Bar

Maratha Beach Bar sits on Maratha, a peaceful sandy cove organised by the Skiathos Palace Hotel just around from Koukounaries. There are sun loungers, parasols, and beach-towel service, with cocktails, coffees, light snacks, salads, and fresh fruit.
It's the calm, resort-style choice for families and couples, a quieter alternative to the busy main Koukounaries strand. The hotel pool terrace is about 150m away if you want a change of scene.
Sunbeds run around €20 a set, or free for hotel guests. €€ pricing.
Ammos Beach Restaurant

Ammos Beach Restaurant is the beach restaurant and bar of the Princess Resort on Agia Paraskevi, one of the better resort beaches on the island. It leans modern Greek, with fresh seafood, fish, salads, and Mediterranean plates served over the water, plus a beach bar for snacks and drinks.
It's more a hotel beach restaurant than a standalone club, so treat it as a resort dining spot with a beach attached. The setting is relaxed and seaside, geared to a lunch or a long afternoon.
Sunbeds are free for hotel guests, and cabanas can be hired if you're not staying. Expect a la carte prices at the restaurant. €€€ pricing.

Do you need to book beach clubs in Skiathos in advance?
For Baracoa, yes. Its sunbeds and cabanas run on a reservation system all season, so book ahead in July and August. Mystique and Porto Paradiso also take sunbed and table bookings, which is worth doing for the front rows in peak summer. The resort beach bars are more walk-up friendly.

Baracoa on Tzaneria is the island's only true beach club and the clear pick, with a reservation system, a chef-led kitchen, and a spa. For an upscale sunbed day out west, Mystique on Ampelakia is the best of the organised beach bars around Koukounaries bay.
Do Skiathos beaches charge for sunbeds?
Most do. A set of two loungers and an umbrella runs about €15 to €30, rising to around €40 on the front row at Banana Beach in peak season. Some spots waive the fee if you eat there, like Swell, which gives free sunbeds to lunch guests. Free stretches of sand exist on most beaches too.

The season runs May to October, peaking in July and August. Several venues post 2026 opening dates in early-to-mid May, with the Elivi beach bars opening between 3 and 23 May. In spring and autumn expect reduced service or closures, so check ahead outside high summer.
Which Skiathos beach bar is best for families?
