Two scenes in one country: island clubs built around scenery and long lunches, and the polished, year-round Athens Riviera.
Greece runs two very different beach club scenes. The islands sell scenery and long lunches by the sea, while the Athens Riviera serves a polished, year-round city crowd.
Santorini keeps its clubs on the black volcanic sand of the south coast, away from the caldera. It's lounge-by-the-sea, not big parties, and cheaper than you'd expect.
Crete spreads clubs across resort strips near Chania and Elounda. Rhodes and Corfu mix party bars with family-friendly loungers.
Back on the mainland, the Athens Riviera runs from Vouliagmeni to Varkiza, with upscale clubs like Astir Beach serving the city.
Most island clubs open May to October, with July and August the peak. Book front-row beds a couple of weeks ahead in high summer.
