Beach clubs in Salento run down both coasts of Puglia's heel, from Gallipoli's party lidos to the quiet coves near Otranto. There are 13 worth knowing here. Locals call them lidi or stabilimenti, and the format is an umbrella, two sunbeds, and a bar and kitchen a few steps back.

The Ionian side to the west has the white sand and the DJ scene. The Adriatic side to the east is rockier and more elegant.

Samsara Beach

Samsara Beach opened in Baia Verde in 2006 and is one of Gallipoli's original party lidos. Sunbeds and umbrellas fill the day, then vocalists and DJ sets take over from mid-afternoon.

There's a privée area and gazebos for groups, plus a restaurant and bar a few steps back. Aperitivo is the moment everyone turns up for.

Zen Beach

Zen Beach is in the heart of Baia Verde, pitched around relaxation rather than the party. Umbrellas, loungers and a solarium sit on the clear Ionian shore.

It's calm through the day and picks up at aperitivo. The lido has collected "Best Beach Resort in Italy" and "Trendiest Lido in Italy" tags on the local scene.

You can book sunbed and umbrella sets online. It's a good middle ground if you want some atmosphere without the full Samsara crowd.

South of Gallipoli, the coast turns to protected parkland and quieter coves.

G Beach

G Beach sits on 4,000 square metres inside the Isola di Sant'Andrea and Punta Pizzo park at Punta della Suina, just south of Gallipoli. Eight wooden decks are built out over the water, with solarium areas and a panoramic terrace.

The restaurant does Mediterranean and Apulian plates, and there's a cocktail bar down on the sand. It's design-led and aimed at couples and groups rather than party crowds.

This is one of the pricier lidos on the coast. Two sunbeds run to about €100 at the height of summer, and parking is €8. Book well ahead.

Cotriero

Cotriero is a small sandy beach about 5km south of Gallipoli, tucked between low cliffs that form a natural pool. Umbrellas, sunbeds and loungers line the cove.

The bar and restaurant do local dishes, with vegan and vegetarian options. It's best known for sunset aperitivo with relaxed music.

Lido Pizzo is inside the Isola di Sant'Andrea and Punta Pizzo protected reserve, south of Gallipoli. Umbrellas and sunbeds sit by the water in classic or gazebo format.

Le Cinque Vele

Le Cinque Vele is a high-end beach club on the Maldive del Salento sand at Marina di Pescoluse, set away from the crowds. Front-row Relax First maxi loungers face the water, with an Exclusive area of gazebos for two to four.

There's a lounge restaurant, a natural sea spa, a baby garden and a mini club, so it works for families and couples alike. Vogue Italia named it among the best beach clubs of 2026.

Lido Fico sits on the Adriatic cliffs at Marina di Marittima, laid out on natural grass lawns between dry-stone walls and Mediterranean scrub. Two zones, Green and Relax, each have sea access.
