This is not a cheap island. The Faraglioni clubs run to a €200 minimum spend per person in high summer, while a sunbed at Bagni di Tiberio costs a fraction of that. Season runs roughly April to October, busiest in July and August.

Where are the best beach clubs in Capri?

Do you need a boat to reach Capri's beach clubs?

For some, yes. La Fontelina and Da Luigi ai Faraglioni sit below the cliffs with no road access, so most people take a shuttle boat from Marina Piccola or walk down the steps from Punta Tragara. Bagni di Tiberio also runs a shuttle from Marina Grande.

The rest you can reach on foot or by bus. La Canzone del Mare and Bagni Internazionali are a walk down to Marina Piccola, and the Anacapri clubs are a short taxi or bus ride.

La Fontelina

La Fontelina sits right at the foot of the Faraglioni, the three sea stacks that are Capri's signature view. It's a family-run stabilimento, laid out on flat rocks with padded loungers and umbrellas by the water.

The restaurant is the draw as much as the beach. Fresh fish, homemade pasta and the house sangria come out to long lunches, with a boat and jet-set crowd filling the terrace by 1pm.

Entry is €40 for a lounger, plus €20 for an umbrella. In high summer, from late May to mid-September, there's a €200 minimum spend per person, and you book online only, no phone bookings. Da Luigi ai Faraglioni

Da Luigi ai Faraglioni is the other Faraglioni institution, open since 1936 and next along the rocks from Fontelina. It sits on a small bay at the base of the Monacone cliff, looking straight at the sea stacks.

It has drawn film stars and models for decades, and it keeps the old-Capri glamour. There's a sea-edge terrace, a snack bar, beach cabins and loungers tucked into the rock.

A full day costs around €120 per person, which covers a sunbed, showers and changing rooms, plus a bar or restaurant credit. Get there by boat transfer from Marina Piccola or Marina Grande, or walk the path from Punta Tragara, about 30 minutes. Seasonal, roughly late April to early October. €€€

La Canzone del Mare

La Canzone del Mare is the biggest and easiest of the Marina Piccola clubs, set across the bay from the Faraglioni. It's been a symbol of la dolce vita since the 1950s.

It pairs two saltwater pools with direct sea access, cabanas, a bar and a restaurant. The main pool, shaped like the island itself, has featured in old films about Capri glamour.

The crowd is upmarket and quieter than the party islands. Expect Capri prices for a lounger and lunch, and book ahead for summer. It's sheltered from the wind, with one of the best Faraglioni views on the island. €€€

Bagni Internazionali

Bagni Internazionali sits along the same Marina Piccola bay, a family-run place spread over 3,000 square metres of terraces and solarium on several levels. It's been going for over a century.

Its Ciro a Mare restaurant has served classic Capri cooking on the beach since 1937, built on the day's catch, raw fish and handmade pasta. A snack bar called Da Maria handles the lighter beach-day meals.

It's a more relaxed, mid-range option than the Faraglioni clubs, right by the water with easy Marina Piccola access. Good for a full day without the boat trip. €€

Nearer Marina Grande, the port side of the island, the mood turns casual.

Bagni di Tiberio

Bagni di Tiberio is the family favourite, on a small sandy-pebble beach where Emperor Tiberius's villa once stood. You can still see the Roman ruins among the rocks behind the sand.

It's reached by a short shuttle boat from Marina Grande, or a walking path if you'd rather. There are sunbeds, umbrellas and a casual restaurant looking back at the bay.

Sunbeds run roughly €25 to €45 per person, well below the Faraglioni clubs. It's relaxed, good for kids, and one of the few Capri clubs with actual sand. Open through the summer season. €€

Over on the Anacapri side, near the Blue Grotto, two clifftop clubs trade sand for pools and views.

Il Riccio

Il Riccio is the beach club and restaurant of the Jumeirah Capri Palace, on the north shore near the Blue Grotto in Anacapri. The restaurant holds a Michelin star.

The kitchen is known for raw and cooked seafood, with a whitewashed terrace above the water and steps leading down to the sea. It's more a dining destination than a sunbathing one.

Lido del Faro

Lido del Faro sits at Punta Carena, under the lighthouse on the western tip of Anacapri. It's the island's sunset spot, away from the Faraglioni crowds.
