Elba's beaches run on the stabilimento balneare, the equipped lido where you hire an umbrella and two sunbeds for the day. The beach clubs in Elba Island are lidos first and party spots second, though a few like Paglicce and Tortuga bring music and a younger crowd. We cover eight worth planning a day around.

The island has around 80 beaches, and most of the good ones keep an equipped section with a bar or restaurant. Day rates stay modest for Italy. An umbrella and two loungers runs about EUR 28 to 35 in July and August, less in June and September. The season runs June to the end of September.

The clubs split by beach. Marina di Campo has Elba's longest sand, Lacona and Naregno sit on calm southern bays, and the Costa del Sole coves of Cavoli and Fetovaia hold the clearest water in the southwest. For more of the Italian coast, see our guide to beach clubs in Italy or the lidos of Forte dei Marmi.

Which Elba beaches have beach clubs?

Nearly every sandy beach on Elba keeps at least one equipped lido. Marina di Campo, the longest, has Paglicce. Lacona has Tortuga Beach Club, and Naregno near Capoliveri has the family-run Elba in Love.

On the north coast, Marciana Marina has Bagni La Fenicia and Bagnaia has the Sunset Beach Club. The long Procchio bay and the southwest coves of Cavoli and Fetovaia all have serviced sections too.

How much does a sunbed cost on Elba?

An umbrella with two sunbeds costs roughly EUR 28 to 35 a day at most Elba lidos, cheaper than the mainland Tuscan coast. Bagni La Fenicia charges EUR 28 off-peak and EUR 35 in July and August, with a cabin adding a few euros.

The busier Costa del Sole beaches like Cavoli and Fetovaia run higher in peak, closer to EUR 40 to 50. Book through Spiagge.it or direct by phone to hold a spot on summer weekends.

Paglicce Beach

Equipped beach and pine grove at Paglicce Beach, Marina di Campo

Paglicce Beach sits in the middle of Marina di Campo, Elba's longest beach, with equipped areas by the water and back in the pine grove.

It opened as a lido in 1996 and added a restaurant in 2006. Food is now the draw as much as the sand, with meat and fish cooked with some ambition and a design-led setting that fills up at lunch. Music picks up in the afternoon, so it's not the spot for a quiet read.

Book a table in high season, especially for dinner. It suits people who want a proper meal with their beach day rather than a plain sunbed. Open through the summer. €€€

There's a bar and restaurant, cabins, hot showers and wifi, plus SUP and canoe rental, a fitness zone and children's play areas on both sand and grass. Background music and staff-run activities give it a young, lively feel.

It's pet-friendly with parking, open June to September. Book ahead on summer weekends. €€

Elba in Love

Family beach at Elba in Love, Naregno bay

Elba in Love spreads over more than 1,500 square metres on the sandy bay of Naregno near Capoliveri, with the Spanish fortress on one side and Porto Azzurro on the other.

It has a restaurant, beach bar, mini club, cabins, and canoe, kayak, SUP and pedalo rental, plus a dock and buoys for guests arriving by boat.

The whole place is wheelchair accessible, with certified walkways, an adapted toilet and a jojo beach chair, and parking is included. It's one of the island's best picks for families. €€

Bagni La Fenicia

Umbrellas at the end of the Marciana Marina seafront, Bagni La Fenicia

Bagni La Fenicia sits at the far end of the Marciana Marina waterfront, on a gravel-bottomed beach you can reach on foot or by bike. It's been a fixture here for over twenty years.

Services cover sunbeds and umbrellas, cabins with bathrooms and showers, and a bar kiosk, with the associated Ristorante Capo Nord in the middle of the beach.

An umbrella and two loungers is EUR 28 a day off-peak and EUR 35 in July and August, with a cabin adding a bit more. Relaxed and family-friendly. €€

Sunset Beach Club Bagnaia

African reed umbrellas at Sunset Beach Club, Bagnaia

Sunset Beach Club Bagnaia sits on the north coast in the bay of Bagnaia, a short drive from Portoferraio, with African reed umbrellas and rustic wooden loungers with cushions.

You get hot showers, cabins, canoe and SUP rental, and a bar, restaurant and pizzeria on site.

The name says it. This is the place for a sunset aperitivo over the water, and it stays relaxed through the day. Book for dinner in peak season. €€

Bagni Il Delfino holds an equipped section on the long sandy beach of Procchio, one of Elba's most sheltered family bays.

It offers umbrella and sunbed hire with a bar and restaurant, and it's one of several lidos on Procchio alongside SEA Club Bagni Paola, Bagni Tahiti and others.

The calm, shallow water suits kids, and the beach has plenty of shade and services. Book direct through its own site. €€

Pino Solitario

Golden sand cove at Pino Solitario, Fetovaia

Pino Solitario is one of two equipped bagni on Fetovaia, the golden-sand cove in the southwest and one of Elba's most photographed beaches.

It's set up for accessibility, with a jojo beach chair, a wooden walkway out to the umbrellas and loungers, showers and toilets, plus bar service. Its neighbour Barbatoja runs the other equipped stretch of the cove.

Fetovaia gets busy in August, so arrive early or reserve. Peak sunbeds run around EUR 40 a day. Booking is by phone. €€

White granite sand at Bagni Batignani, Cavoli beach

Bagni Batignani runs part of the serviced eastern half of Cavoli, a Costa del Sole beach with white granitic sand and turquoise water.

It's umbrella and sunbed hire with bar service. Cavoli gets a lively, music-led daytime scene in high summer, and the neighbouring Bahia Cavoli and Cavoli 2000 cover the other equipped stretches.

Peak rates run higher here than the north coast, closer to EUR 40 to 50. Booking is by phone, and the crowd skews young. €€

Do you need to book a beach club on Elba?

Which is the best beach club on Elba?

It depends on the day you want. Paglicce at Marina di Campo is best for food and a livelier scene, Tortuga at Lacona for a young crowd and water sports, and Elba in Love at Naregno for families and full wheelchair access. For sunset drinks, head to Bagnaia.

When are Elba's beach clubs open?

Are there beach clubs with music on Elba?

Elba is low-key next to Ibiza or the Costa Smeralda, but a few spots bring music and a younger crowd. Paglicce at Marina di Campo and Tortuga at Lacona both play background music through the afternoon, and Cavoli beach gets a lively, music-led daytime scene in high summer.
