Beach clubs in Cabo de Gata

One beach club, 63 km of protected coastline, and no sunbed rows in sight.

Beach clubs in Cabo de Gata are rare by design. The area falls inside the Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata-Níjar, one of the most tightly protected coastlines in Spain. Strict development rules cap commercial infrastructure, which is why the park's coast looks nothing like Marbella or Ibiza.

One venue operates here: TENTACIÓN, a casual weekend bar with sunbeds near the main village. It's not a polished setup. If you want pool clubs, DJs, or proper chiringuito dining, you'll find that on the wider Almería coast, not inside the park.

The coastline runs roughly 63 km between Retamar in the west and Agua Amarga in the north. San José is the most-visited village inside the park, with bars and restaurants but no dedicated beach club. For more options, Las Negras and Almería city both sit within an hour's drive.

Andalusia's official tourism portal covers the park's beaches, hiking trails, and viewpoints in full.

Are there beach clubs inside Cabo de Gata Natural Park?

Environmental protections across the Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata-Níjar make commercial beach development largely illegal. The park's most famous coves, including Playa de los Genoveses and Playa del Barronal, have no sunbeds, no bars, and no services at all.

TENTACIÓN Beach Club sits outside the most sensitive zones, on the road near the main Cabo de Gata village. It's as close to a beach club as the area gets, and it's a modest, weekend-only operation.

Is Cabo de Gata worth visiting for beach clubs?

Not if beach clubs are the main reason for going. The one venue here is a basic weekend bar with sunbeds. If you're already visiting the park for its beaches and hiking, it's worth knowing about as an evening option.

For a proper beach club day, Almería city has ten clubs around 30 minutes away by car. Mojácar, another 45 minutes north, offers three clubs with a more developed beach strip and better overall ratings.

TENTACIÓN Beach Club

Outdoor seating area at TENTACIÓN Beach Club, Cabo de Gata village beach

TENTACIÓN Beach Club sits on the Carretera de Cabo de Gata, close to the village beach. It runs sunbeds, a bar, and free parking on weekends, opening Saturday and Sunday from 5 PM to midnight.

Cocktails are the main draw, and prices stay under €10 per person. Reviews are split sharply, with service the most common complaint. Treat it as a casual weekend bar with sunbeds rather than a full beach club.
