Mallorca, Menorca, Formentera and Ibiza. From barefoot chiringuitos to clifftop pool clubs.

The beach clubs in the Balearic Islands span four islands with very different personalities. Mallorca has ten of the sixteen here, from clifftop pools above Cala Pi to barefoot paella spots on Playa de Muro. Formentera is bohemian and unhurried.

Price ranges run from genuinely affordable spots to Balinese daybeds at €150 per day. Most clubs are seasonal, running from April or May through October. A handful of Mallorca clubs near Palma stay open in shoulder months, but it's hit and miss.

Formentera is a short ferry from Ibiza, and the Ibiza beach clubs page covers the full scene there. For Mallorca beach clubs, a dedicated guide covers all 23.

The Balearic Islands official tourism portal has ferry timetables and island-hopping transport info if you're planning to visit more than one island.

What is the best beach club in Formentera?

Beso Beach Formentera is the standout for a beach day on natural sand. It sits inside the Ses Salines Natural Park, runs regular DJs, and keeps prices lower than you'd expect for the island. The lobster rice gets consistent praise.

For food and a sunset aperitivo, Chezz Gerdi in Es Pujols is the other main option. The location is prime for golden hour, the cava sangria gets callouts in reviews, and if you arrive by boat there's a dedicated boatman on standby. Reservations are required, so book ahead.

Which Balearic island has the best beach clubs?

For variety, Mallorca leads. Ten of the sixteen clubs here are on the island, covering everything from family-friendly beachfront paella spots to adults-only pool venues. The full Mallorca guide goes deeper on all 23.

Ibiza has the most famous scene in the Balearics, covered on the Ibiza beach clubs page. Formentera suits a slower, more relaxed day out. Menorca is the quietest of the four, with Artrutx Sea Club by the Cap d'Artrutx lighthouse as the standout for sunset.

Mhares Sea Club

Pool terrace and sea views at Mhares Sea Club, Cala Pi, Mallorca

Mhares Sea Club sits on a rocky stretch near Cala Pi in southeast Mallorca. The pool is carved into the clifftop, with sunbeds looking straight out to sea. Sunset draws the crowd, consistently.

The kitchen serves modern Majorcan food with Mediterranean flavours. Happy hour pricing softens what is otherwise a high-end bill. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all available, plus a salad bar.

Well reviewed for atmosphere and service overall, though food divides opinion more than the setting does. Free parking and wheelchair access both available.

Beach Club

Interior view of the restaurant at Beach Club, Mhares Sea Club complex, Mallorca

Beach Club operates within the Mhares Sea Club complex on Mallorca's southeast coast. It functions as the on-site restaurant and lounge, with casual table service for lunch and desserts.

The cocktail list gets good feedback from guests. Public reviews are limited, so it's hard to assess independently. If you're already at Mhares, it's all part of the same experience.

Reservations accepted. Family-friendly with a kids area.

If you're looking for alternatives in the area, El Chaval Beach Club is the closest option in Calvià.

Formentera is a 30-minute ferry ride from Ibiza. The island is largely car-free and small enough to cross by bicycle, so the pace is completely different from Mallorca. The beach club scene here leans bohemian and relaxed.

Beso Beach Formentera

Sunset terrace and cocktails at Artrutx Sea Club, Cap d'Artrutx lighthouse, Menorca
