Motril has three beach clubs in Motril on the Costa Tropical, the stretch of Granada's coastline that stays warm enough to beach in April and October. Prices run from €10 for a casual chiringuito plate at Badía to €40 for a full meal and sunbeds at Sunahra or Hoyo 19. None of these places are trying to be Marbella.
The three clubs lean toward food and relaxed sunbathing rather than parties. Sunahra and Hoyo 19 cover breakfast through late dinner with solid menus and sea views. Badía is the outlier, running until 4am with live music and DJ nights.
Playa de Poniente is the closest beach to town, a 2 km strip where Sunahra and Badía sit side by side. Playa Granada is a little further west, backed by golf courses, and home to Hoyo 19. If you're continuing along the coast, Almería beach clubs are about an hour east.
The Motril tourist office has seasonal beach info and a visitor guide worth checking before you go.

What is the best beach club in Motril?
For food and atmosphere, Sunahra Beach Club is the top pick. Croquetas, tuna tartare, and cocktails on a sea-view terrace with live music on weekends — it's the best-reviewed venue on this part of the coast.
For a full beach day near Playa Granada, Hoyo 19 is the better choice. It opens at 8am, has hammocks and sunbeds by the water, and runs tapas and mojitos all day until 11pm. If you want music and late nights, Badía is the only one that goes until 4am.
How much do beach clubs in Motril cost?
Motril is affordable by Spanish beach club standards. Badía is the cheapest at €10-30 per person for food and drinks. Sunahra and Hoyo 19 run €20-40.
There's no entrance charge at any of the three clubs. You're not looking at the minimum-spend requirements you'd face in Ibiza or Marbella. Walk-in meals and drinks are the norm on this coast.
Sunahra Beach Club

Sunahra Beach Club sits on Playa de Poniente, right at the water's edge on the Granada coast. It's a full chiringuito: restaurant, bar, Balinese daybeds, and live music all in one beachfront setup. The vibe is casual and romantic rather than loud.
The menu is the main draw. Croquetas and tuna tartare come up most in guest feedback, alongside a solid cocktail list and a wine selection that holds its own. Live music plays on weekends, and the fireplace terrace keeps things going into the evening even when the beach empties.
Prices run €20-40 per person. Reservations are recommended for brunch, lunch, and dinner, especially in July and August. There's free parking on-site, dogs are welcome, and wheelchair access is full throughout.
It's the best-reviewed club on this part of the coast. You can show up for breakfast and still be there at sunset without anyone rushing you.

Hoyo 19 Beach Club

Hoyo 19 Beach Club is on Camino del Pelaíllo near Playa Granada, beside the golf courses on the western edge of Motril's coast. The name is a nod to golf's 19th hole, and the spirit matches. It's a place built for slow afternoons, with hammocks on the sand and a proper kitchen running all day.
Tapas are the staple order. Cocktails are consistently called out in reviews, and mojitos get specific mentions. The bar opens at 8am, which makes Hoyo 19 one of the only spots worth considering for breakfast on this stretch.
Hours run until 11pm on weekdays and 11:30pm on weekends. There's free parking on-site and on the street, with wheelchair-accessible spaces throughout. Service can be slow on busy summer weekends, so factor that in if you're going on a Saturday in July.

Badía Beach Club & Restaurant is on Calle Rector Lorenzo Morillas Cuevas, on Playa de Poniente right next to Sunahra. It's the only club in Motril with a genuine nightlife component, running from morning coffee through to 4am DJ sets. The daytime crowd is mostly families, with evenings shifting toward groups and a club feel.
Music and cocktails are the whole point here. DJs play regularly, huevos rotos and late-night food are the main orders, and there's a happy hour in the evenings. The food is casual and filling rather than elaborate.
Prices run €10-30 per person. Reservations are recommended for lunch and dinner. There's free parking, a kids' area with a children's menu, and full wheelchair access throughout.
Reviews are split. People who come for the music and late-night scene love it. Those expecting polished service or fine dining tend to leave disappointed.
Frequently asked questions about Motril beach clubs
Do you need to book beach clubs in Motril in advance?
Reservations are recommended at all three clubs for lunch and dinner in July and August. Sunahra gets the busiest and should be booked ahead for any weekend meal. Hoyo 19 is the most relaxed about walk-ins, especially on weekdays outside of summer.
Are Motril beach clubs open all year?
All three clubs operate year-round, unlike seasonal venues in Ibiza or Formentera. Outside of summer, hours contract and menus are often reduced from November through March. Badía is the exception, staying open until 4am throughout the year, which is unusual for a smaller coastal town.
Are Motril beach clubs family-friendly?
Sunahra and Badía both have dedicated kids' areas, children's menus, and high chairs. Hoyo 19 doesn't list specific kids' facilities but is a relaxed all-day venue well-suited to families during daylight hours. Note that Badía shifts to a late-night club feel after dark, so it's better for families at lunch.
