Beach Club La Ballena is the beachfront bar and restaurant attached to Hotel Elba Costa Ballena, on Avenida Carla de Orleans in Rota. It's part of the resort complex, but outside guests are welcome.
The setup is outdoor tables and sunbeds right on the sand. Live music and live performances run through the season. Families are well served here, with a kids' area, high chairs, and a children's menu.
Paella and rice dishes are the main draw. Raciones and tapas fill out the menu alongside full meal service from brunch through dinner. Prices sit at the mid-range level, which most guests find fair. A handful of one-star reviews flag food quality not matching the setting, so it's worth checking recent reviews if the kitchen matters to you.
Rated 4.1 from 442 reviews, with about three-quarters of guests giving four or five stars. Reservations are required, so don't plan to walk in without booking.
Paella and rice dishes are the signature here. The menu is Andalusian at its core: tapas, raciones, small plates, and full meals running from brunch through to dinner. There's an all-you-can-eat option too.
The bar covers cocktails, wine, beer, coffee, and spirits. Sunsets pull a drinks crowd, and the bar does steady trade through the afternoon and into the evening.
Prices are mid-range ($$). Most guests consider it fair value for a beachfront setting. Some one-star reviews have flagged frozen or inconsistent dishes, so checking recent feedback before you go is worthwhile if food quality is a priority.
Yes, and reservations are required. Walk-ins are unlikely to get a table, especially at peak meal times. You can book through the Hotel Elba Costa Ballena or call +34 956 55 05 50.
It's a solid pick for families. There's a kids' area, high chairs at tables, and a children's menu. The fully accessible layout also makes it easy with pushchairs.
Yes. Parking is available on site as part of the Hotel Elba Costa Ballena complex.
Fully. The venue has a wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot, restrooms, and seating areas, making it one of the more accessible spots on the Rota seafront.

Terrible quality food at Michelin-star prices, what you'd call a rip-off. They give you two portions of ultra-mega-frozen fried food when you order one, and if it at least had a minimum of quality you'd pay for it, but paying for edible plastic, for me, is a rip-off.
Its closed despite showing being open in the evening
