Balneario Illetas is a long-established beach club on a sheltered cove along Passeig Illetes, on the southwest coast of Mallorca. It's been at this spot for decades, and it still draws crowds through the season. The space is large, with a full Mediterranean restaurant, rooftop terrace, and beach-level sunbeds and umbrellas stretching along the waterfront.
The setup covers a lot of ground: restaurant, cocktail bar, on-site spa, and massage services. The crowd leans family, group, and tourist rather than late-night club. Showers and sunbed rentals get regular mentions in reviews, and the bus stop nearby makes it an easy trip from Palma without a car.
It's open Thursday to Sunday only. Thursday and Friday from noon to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10am. Reservations are recommended for all meals. Free parking is on site and the venue is fully wheelchair accessible, with a kids' area, high chairs, and a kids' menu.
Rated 4.3 from 3,188 reviews. Around 60% give it five stars, with a smaller share leaving one or two, often citing food portion size relative to price.
The kitchen runs Mediterranean all day, from breakfast and brunch through to a full dinner service. The menu includes paella, though some guests have found portions on the lean side for €26 a plate. The rotating day specials are worth checking: one guest described the cocido madrileño as "about as good as it gets," which suggests the kitchen can outperform a typical beach club when it wants to.
Cocktails are the most consistent highlight across reviews. The wine list is solid, and you'll find coffee and a good tea selection served throughout the day. Small plates and quick bites sit alongside full table-service meals.
Halal food and vegetarian options are both available.
Prices sit at the mid-range ($$). A main like paella runs around €26. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available to rent separately. Cocktails are restaurant-bar priced rather than beach-kiosk cheap.

It is. There's a dedicated kids' area, a kids' menu, and high chairs available. The general crowd is families and groups, so it's a comfortable choice with young children.
There's a free parking lot on site. Paid parking options and paid street parking are also available nearby if the lot is full.

Beautiful boutique hotel with private beach access in Illetas

El Balneario is tucked in a hidden cove in Illetas right where it has been hiding from you for decades. The space is elegant but not stuffy. The staff the same. We went on a Friday, special Cocido Madrileño Day, which was about as good as it gets. I imagine it gets pretty busy during the high season as it has a beach club which serves food on the beach. We imagine that if the rest of the menu is as good as the cocido, it may be busy in the off season too!
Great that the restaurant was open in January; this was the only place open at this time near the beaches. Service ok but weren't able to move to the sunny half of the restaurant. Ordered no shells paella. Tasty but I only found one small prawn and a few calamari. Disappointed as paid 26euro each. Should have complained as this wasn't our first paella. Won't come back to eat. Otherwise lovely big restaurant
